Suitable for parents, carers, 1:1 support staff, teaching assistants.

  • We will cover how to classify AAC systems in unaided and aided.
  • We will look at factors that help to select the most suitable AAC device based on the user`s strengths and needs.
  • We will look at examples of AAC types, from low tech, light tech and high tech.
  • We will appreciate the importance of multi-modal communication- combining all the modes and employing multi-sensory approaches in AAC.
