Makaton Taster

The Makaton Taster is designed to raise awareness of Makaton and to help people understand what Makaton is, who uses it, and how they can learn it. It is not training.

Use the Taster to empower people and encourage them to do more. Highlight the message that they have just started out finding out about Makaton: there is so much more for them to learn.

To run a Makaton Taster you need the following item that can be bought from the online shop:

You will also need the following materials, all of which can be downloaded for free from the Makaton Library, if you have bought the Taster Session Tutor's Guidelines.

• List A, which contains the required vocabulary when you run a Taster
• List B, which contains vocabulary relevant to the group. We have provided a variety of List Bs, with examples of additional vocabulary you may choose for different groups. Of course you must select what is relevant. It might help to talk to the group first to see what they may need.
