Designed to help parents and professionals to support communication during a range of outings, holidays and day out activities. Primarily designed for trips to outdoor locations such as parks and play areas.
Good communication is essential to support understanding and reduce frustration. Going on trips out can often be problematic for children and adults who have learning and communication difficulties. Often simple tasks such as getting ready and understanding what to take and prepare can be distressing and frustrating, both for the individual and their parents or carers.
Primarily designed for trips to outdoor locations such as parks and play areas, the symbols and signs are provided in four sections:
Getting ready to go
Symbols and signs to enable Makaton users to prepare for the trip; from putting on coats and shoes to packing for lunch and getting spending money to take.
Getting there; the Journey
