Lemon Tree

The Lemon Tree series of social story books have been designed by a Special Education Needs Coordinator to support children and their families. They may be helpful for those who may have autism, global development delay, Down’s syndrome or other additional needs.

The stories are aimed at children who struggle with everyday experiences like going to the doctor or they may need support and preparation for special times in their life. The stories have clearly defined facial nonverbal cues to help children identify emotions and features Makaton line drawings of key signs to support understanding.

These books provide a way to start out with using Makaton and can be used in school or at home.
