What’s included in the Makaton App?
The Makaton App gives you access to Premium Membership content, including:
- 45,000+ signs, symbols and videos
- Member events and recordings
- Resources
- MakaChat
Makaton Tutors can sign in to the app, but tutor-specific content is only available through the Makaton website.

Should I sign in or create an account?
Sign In
Choose Sign In if you already have a Premium Membership, Tutor account or active free trial. Use the same email address and password you use for the Makaton website.
Create an Account
Choose Create Account if you're new to Makaton. If you haven't previously used a free trial on your mobile device, you may be eligible for a 14-day free trial.

I’m a Founder member – do I get access to the app too?
Yes, as a Founder member you get the same access as a Premium member, so you can go ahead and download the app today.

I’m a Makaton Tutor/Trainer – do I get access to the App?
Yes. As a Makaton Tutor or Trainer, access to the app is included as part of your licence and therefore enables access to the Makaton App.

What if my membership ends and I just want access to the app?
To maintain access to the App, you must have an active membership that is paid either annually or monthly. If payment is not made, access to the Makaton App and membership features will no longer be available.

How do I search for the Makaton App in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store?
Simply search for “The Makaton App” and look for the Makaton logo shown below.

Yes! The Connected Community app will be phased out and replaced by the Makaton App. The Makaton App will become your go-to place to access the essentials of your membership.
The app includes great new features such as easy access to the Makaton Library directly from your phone or device. You can also continue to access MakaChat community news, discussions, and updates, as well as view and book member events—all in one place.

I already have a Makaton Membership. Do I have to buy the app separately?
No need to purchase the app separately. As an existing Tutor or Premium member, access to the app is included as part of your Makaton membership.
