Makaton Tutor logo and Makaton Trainer logo

The logos can be downloaded from the Makaton Library, together with guidelines to provide you with ideas on how to use your logo.

If you are using a professional designer or printer, they may require colour references for the logo to ensure accuracy in reproduction: you can download our official brand colours from the Makaton Library.

Using the logos

The logo may be resized to make it fit for purpose but it must remain in proportion. We recommend that you do not increase the size of the logo above the actual size because the quality of the image will deteriorate. Please do not crop, change the colour or amend the logo in any way.

If you are using a professional designer or printer, they may require colour references for the logo to ensure accuracy in reproduction. We can provide you with colour references on request or high-resolution versions.

Hints and tips for producing your own promotional materials

The logos have been designed so that you can create materials to promote

yourself as a Licensed Makaton Tutor and to promote Makaton Training:

  • Letterhead/Business cards
  • Website pages

Using Makaton Symbols and Signs

Makaton symbols and line drawings of signs are protected by copyright. If you would like to use them in any of your promotional materials, including social media headers or avatars, you must request permission from The Makaton Charity.

Hints and tips

It can be great fun to go wild when creating your promotional materials but remember that at the end of the day they are being designed for a purpose, to promote you as a tutor/trainer and the delivery of Makaton Training. We have some simple suggestions for you to think about when creating your materials:

  • Colours and images – using too many, clutters a design and may confuse your reader
  • Fonts – choose fonts that are easy to read and limit how many you use or it can be quite distracting
  • Logo - place your logo on its own in top left hand corner
  • Information – ensure you have included all the essential information including contact details
  • Check – proof read your materials and ask someone else to do it too – it’s easy to miss a typo when you have stared at a document for a long time
  • Tutor Number – do not display or give out your tutor number – someone unscrupulous might try and use it

Remember to make your contact details stand out, especially on promotional materials and invoices. You want people to contact and pay you.

Makaton workshops and courses

Please use the correct title for each Makaton Workshop. This helps participants because it matches information published by the Charity and helps them identify their training routes:
