Safeguarding

The Makaton Safeguarding workshop is designed to support professionals and carers of children and adults with severe communication and learning disabilities.

You can only run a Makaton Safeguarding workshop once you have successfully completed a Makaton Safeguarding Train the Trainer workshop.

To run a Safeguarding workshop you need the following items that can be bought from the online shop:

• Safeguarding Tutor Guidelines

• Safeguarding Participant's Manual (one per participant)

Participant's Manual correction

Thanks to Julie Tarn who noticed a mistake on the line drawing of the sign for ‘wet nappy’ in the Safeguarding Participant’s Manual. The line drawing was actually of ‘dirty nappy’. This will be corrected in the next print run of the manual. In the meantime you can download the corrected page from the Makaton Library.
